Betsy Rothstein said Thursday that she will be leaving Fishbowl DC.
The controversial editor announced the news on Twitter, writing:
Whether raging waters or smooth sailing, my 3 years at FishbowlDC have been the perfect storm. Onto new adventures. Stay tuned…

Rothstein’s tenure was marked by plenty of nasty clashes with D.C. media folks — including local publicist Wendy Gordon, who sued Rothstein for a regular series of crude posts about her. Such items had claimed that Gordon “straddled Tiger Woods” and emitted heat between her legs that would cause a wax figure to melt.
The Washington City Paper noted that the lawsuit was settled earlier this month, and it is not known whether Rothstein is leaving on her own. When asked about her future plans, she told Politico, “I need to go out to the desert and meditate for a while and see what I should do next.”
